Five for Friday

1. Wow, what a hectic week. Getting back into the groove of things was harder than I anticipated after my mini-vacay.

2. I finished reading Abandon by Meg Cabot last night and quite enjoyed it. I was worried because the reviews I'd read weren't very...enthusiastic. But it was my kind of story. The main complaint was the lack of action, but for me action isn't necessary to keep me interested. I definitely reccomend it.

3. I'm feeling a total slump in my writing. It's been WAY harder to pick up where I left off than I thought it would be. I think it's my lack of energy combined with the approach of D-Day (due date) that's set me in this funk.

4. I watched The Vow last week with the husband as part of our Valentine's Day date. It was sweet, but I was hoping for a little bit more. It did make me cry...a little, but it doesn't take much to make that happen nowadays.

5. Everyone I know keeps going on and on about Pinterest, but I can't seem to get into it. I think my online presence is already monopolized, and it's just one more thing that I consider a waste of time- no offence to ANYONE who does enjoy spending time on the site, it's just not for me.

Hope you guys have a great weekend! I'll be busy cleaning out our garage. How fun!

  1. The Vow definitely wasn't as good as I was expecting, though I couldn't quite figure out why. Oh, well. And I'm avoiding Pinterest, too! It looks so addictive.

  2. Agreed on the Vow. It seemed like it died in the end. I kept waiting for that one magical moment where she figured it out and they got back together...or she fell madly in love with him. It all just kind of bugged me.

Anyway, I'm slumping too. We can make it through. luv, erin

  3. I'm signed up for Pinterest, but I haven't pinned anything or even logged onto it for a long time. I'm really not even sure I remember my password anymore. Oh well. Hope you get your energy back. Those last few weeks are tough. Take care.

  4. I'm having a hard time falling in love with Pinterest, too! I'm signed up, and every once in a while I go to it.... It just doesn't hold me for long. (Which is probably a REALLY good thing. :))

  5. Hi, new follower here! Your blog is so pretty. :) I can't seem to get into Pinterest. It sounds like a neat site, but I don't have enough time to invest in it.

  6. Agh! I'm so with you on The Vow. I liked it! For sure! It was just... I don't know... too "realistic" for my tastes. It was as if the storyline didn't know that Rachel McAdams + Channing Tatum was supposed to equal fairytale, not whatever the heck that was. I liked it. Seriously, I did. I just have been disappointed with the cinema recently. I hate to take my rage out on a V Day movie but ay dios mio...

  7. In my last trimester, I couldn't come up with a single sentence for my stories. So I can sympathize. I was really productive in the second trimester, though! Have a good weekend.

  9. I've been wanting to see The Vow but the reviews haven't been all that great - maybe I'll wait for it to come out on DVD and rent it or something!
