What I'm Reading:Just finished Love Letters To The Dead the other day. This book hit a little close to home for me. There were certain scenes when Laurel talked about her sister sneaking out and losing herself that reminded me of my own sister at that age and how watching her transform into something she really wasn't scared me. I also came very close to losing her and reading how Laurel's life changed after May died I couldn't help but wonder what my life would have been like without my own sister. So you can guess Letters had me bawling. The words were beautifully crafted and I couldn't help but feel an attachment to it. Definitely recommend it.
What I'm Writing:
Still revising. I've gotten about twenty pages done so far. I'm hoping to reach sixty by the end of the week. I had to go back and fix a couple of things I forgot about, but other than that it hasn't been too rough of a ride.
What Inspires Me Right Now:
Travel! Yesterday was my birthday and to celebrate today the husband and I are going on a trip for a couple of days without the kids! We haven't been away from them since my youngest was born two years ago! Long overdue.
What Else I've Been Up To:
Reading and traveling to visit family at the last minute and cleaning for guests and...lots more stuff.
What's up with you?
Happy Birthday!!!! Enjoy your trip!
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with the revisions and have a lovely birthday trip! :D
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Hope the revisions go well, too :)
ReplyDeleteI've had that experience of reading books that hit a little too close to home. For me, it's those stories where a parent has cancer. As a result, I'm always a little reluctant to pick up that kind of story.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday, Prerna! A trip away sounds fantastic. Hope you have a wonderful time! :D
Happy (belated) birthday!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday, and enjoy your getaway! It's been ages since my husband and I have gone anywhere sans kiddo. You're inspiring me to plan a trip. :-)
