What's Up Wednesday

What's Up Wednesday is a weekly meme geared toward readers and writers, allowing us to touch base with blog friends and let them know what's up, put on by Jamie Morrow and Erin Funk. If you'd like to join click on the links above!

What I'm Reading:
Currently rereading The Raven Boys. Almost ready for The Dream Thieves. Loving it so far. I'm also reading The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. I wanted to change things up a bit and read modern classic, see what all the hoopla is about. So far it's fascinating and has its moments of humor, though it deals with some pretty heavy issues.  13 Reasons Why is coming upon the list, along with The Sea of Tranquility.

What I'm Writing:
So many things. I can't make up my mind over what project I want to focus on the most. It's a good problem to have, I guess. On top of that I just brainstormed up some ideas for revising another project I thought would shelved for some time to come. My brain won't shut up.

What Inspires Me Right Now:
Naps. Really, guys, I am worn out and napping seriously helps my fuzzy brain to not...be fuzzy. We've all been battling colds and sleeping is a luxury. I've taken a nap pretty much every day the last week, not counting the weekend, which is very unlike me. I only napped when I was pregnant or with a newborn. I guess it doesn't matter because a 15 minute break can do wonders for my writing and energy levels.

What Else I've Been Up To:
Cleaning like an 8 month pregnant woman. I'm not (pregnant) I swear, but I've had these relentless urges to ORGANIZE. If you know me you know that's highly unusual behavior. I guess I'm growing up. And it is nice to be able to locate various tools and important papers when the need arises. The only downside is now every little mess drives me bonkers.

What's Up With You Guys?

  1. I wish I'd have the occasional urge to clean, my desk is a mess! I loved The Dream Thieves, I can't wait for the next one.

  2. I think the need to de-clutter might also have something to do with the changing seasons. If I wasn't moving, I'd still have the urge to organize I think. Naps always seem to make me feel more fuzzy, but I think it's because I don't have the discipline to make them ultra brief. Cat naps can be really helpful, but I end up overdoing it. I think it's great to mix up your reading with some classics, modern or old. As a writer, I think it only helps. Good to hear that the ideas are flowing. That is definitely a good problem to have! :-)

  3. Hope you can get all the cleaning done soon! I should probably follow your example and sort out some of my stuff ^^;

    Good luck picking an idea to work on. Having a range of options is great though ^_^

  4. I'm reading The Dream Thieves right now and so far so good! I almost wish I would've reread The Raven Boys first but I have so many books on my TBR... so much to read, so little time. And with all your talk of naps... I want a nap!

  5. I have that same cleaning urge. I can't say that I mind :) I understand having a talkative brain. Mine is the same way. It has so many ideas and all at the same time... I hope that you get caught up on rest and feel all the way better soon.

  6. I'm a cleaner and an organizer (and a napper!) too -- I can relate! You've got some awesome books on deck. I loved THE DREAM THIEVES, and THE SEA OF TRANQUILITY totally blew me away. I hope you enjoy them both. Have a great week, Prerna!

    I've never been able to nap well. It just leaves me feeling more fuzzy. I have been known to go to bed at 8pm though :)
